Kimber Educational Consultancy
Supporting children to understand their learning needs and access the right support
At Kimber Educational Consultancy, we provide professional, child‑centred assessment and screening to help identify learning differences, including difficulties linked to literacy, attention, communication, and wider developmental needs. Our assessments also support the early identification of areas associated with autism (ASD) and attention difficulties (ADHD), helping families understand emerging patterns and access the right pathways.
We work closely with parents and schools to offer clear, practical recommendations and high‑quality reports that support children’s progress and, where appropriate, EHCP applications, referrals to other professional agencies (such as paediatrics, CAMHS, SALT or Occupational Therapy), and applications for Disability Living Allowance (DLA). Each assessment includes tailored guidance for both home and school to ensure consistent, meaningful support.
Dyslexia support, diagnosis and detailed reporting will be available from June 2027.
Professional Services
This option is an assessment carried out through a combination of observation, developmental screeners, and consultation with parents to identify key areas of concern. It focuses on understanding the child’s strengths and barriers to learning, offering practical strategies to reduce these barriers and providing targeted recommendations for both parents and professionals. While this option does not produce a detailed formal report, it offers valuable insight into the child’s emerging needs and outlines clear next steps to support progress and move learning forward.
Parents are invited to access an online consultation via Zoom to discuss the most appropriate next steps for their child. During this session, we explore available pathways such as developmental screeners, targeted assessments to identify emerging needs, and tailored recommendations for support. Where appropriate, families can request a formal written report suitable for use in an EHCP application, a referral for diagnostic assessment, or as supporting evidence when applying for Disability Living Allowance (DLA). Service fees range from £150–£350, depending on the level of assessment required. Prices for face‑to‑face appointments outside the M25 are available on application.

An in-depth, comprehensive report designed to support applications for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Right to Choose referrals, or other pathways towards clinical assessment. This report can also be used as evidence when applying for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for your child.
While this report does not provide a medical diagnosis or guarantee a successful EHCP application, it offers valuable professional insight into your child’s strengths and needs. It includes clear recommendations, areas for support, and key indicators to help guide next steps at home, in school, and with external services.

Commitment to early intervention and quality education
Drawing upon decades of evidence‑based learning approaches, we place the child at the centre of their educational journey, focusing on the core foundational principles that underpin long‑term progress. Our work emphasises reducing cognitive load, strengthening the prime areas of learning, and building on each child’s unique strengths so they can achieve and flourish across all areas of development. A key focus is the development of communication and language, recognising it as the gateway to thinking, social interaction, emotional regulation and early literacy. We also prioritise physical development, including both gross and fine motor skills, which form the essential building blocks for writing, coordination, independence and self‑confidence.
Through a range of services—including developmental screeners, targeted assessments, observation‑based evaluations, and tailored recommendations—we support children to develop the core and foundational skills they need to thrive. Our assessments help identify emerging needs linked to attention, communication, ASD, ADHD, and early learning differences, ensuring that parents and professionals receive clear, practical guidance on how to reduce barriers to learning and move progress forward.
